 Hi,

My father is Pakistani and mom is white. Both cultures are important to me but I have always seen myself in a white dress.

Does anyone have suggestions for designers or sites to browse for more of an American style dress but with indian paisley and intricate beading. I don't want much red on the dress although I know it's traditional.

 the couture rani one is very close to what I want. I have relatives overseas where I could get something similar made but its so scary paying for something before you see it.

 That designer is from India. If you have any relatives in India - I bet that dress is more than half that price there. Maybe find out?

 Charmi Creations has fusion gowns that are the prettiest I have seen and they are not really overly priced, I would say about mid-range, but they are only located in London and another in India and they can change the color and smaller stuff on their clothes so you can personalize it since its made to order.

 Thanks. I checked them out. Not really my tastes I might have to try and hire a seamstress or something. I dno't want anything crazy but it's just so hard to fnid a nice fusion dress.

 I'm white and my fiance is Hindu - we worked with a couturier here in Chicago to design a fusion dress.  All in all, the cost was $1200 for everything.  I bought a white dress and saree fabric which was added to the dress and used to make a dupatta.  The result was fantastic.  Maybe there's a couturier in Houston who could help you out?

 That is pretty much what I will do. I actually ended up doing something similar way back in high school for my prom dress. My mother made this out of purple sari fabric. I want a similar vibe but more bridal.
